The Isle of Man continues its proud numismatic legacy with the 2025 release of its prestigious Isle of Man Angel Coin and Isle of Man Noble Coin collections. These celebrated designs connect collectors and investors alike to centuries of rich history, culture, and craftsmanship.
Produced by the Tower Mint in London on behalf of the Treasury of the Isle of Man Government, the 2025 coin range includes both gold and silver editions. Gold Angels and Nobles are available in sizes from one-tenth to one ounce, while silver coins range from half-ounce to an impressive one kilogram.

The Isle of Man Angel Coin traces its roots to 1470, when King Edward IV introduced the original English gold Angel. Named after its classical motif of Archangel Michael slaying a dragon, the coin gained a reputation for bringing good fortune—many even believed it could cure illness and save lives. Reintroduced in 1984 by the Isle of Man as a bullion coin, the “Manx Angel” quickly rose to international prominence, winning accolades like Coin of the Year and becoming one of the most sought-after coin collections globally.
For 2025, the Angel coin’s reverse features the iconic image of Archangel Michael, facing left as he triumphs over the dragon. This design, first used on the 1984 Isle of Man Angel, is framed by a Celtic Trinity Knot border—a symbol of unity and eternity. At the top rim, the Isle of Man’s Triskeles shield is prominently displayed, with the inscription “ANGEL” and the coin’s specifications near the lower edge, preserving its timeless appeal.

Equally rich in history, the Isle of Man Noble Coin blends medieval and Viking symbolism. While the Noble originated in medieval England, its enduring maritime theme recalls the Viking era, reflecting the seafaring strength and expansive trade routes of the Norse. The coin’s reverse depicts a Viking-style longship under full sail, complete with a dragonhead prow and encircled by a Celtic Trinity Knot border. Above soar seagulls, reinforcing the maritime motif, while the Isle of Man’s Triskeles shield sits atop the design. The word “NOBLE” and coin specifications complete the composition along the bottom rim.
This seafaring symbolism also links to the Isle of Man’s own heritage. A stylized Viking ship has long served as a symbol of Tynwald, the Island’s thousand-year-old parliament. First flown in 1971, the flag featuring a gold ship on a deep blue field still flies proudly on Tynwald Day and outside the Legislative Buildings in Douglas.

All gold and silver coins in the 2025 Angel and Noble ranges feature the effigy of HM King Charles III, created by renowned engraver Glyn Davies. The portrait is encircled by the inscription “CHARLES III · ISLE OF MAN,” with the year of issue, 2025, placed below the bust.
A special highlight of the 2025 offerings is a limited-edition two-coin silver set, which includes both proof and reverse-proof versions of the Angel and Noble coins—a perfect collector’s showcase of the Isle of Man’s artistry and heritage.
